My name is Camilo Restrepo, I am a practitioner of innovation and connector of early-stage  investing for Latin America´s Startups looking to expand their reach into European and USA markets. Currently I am a student in the MSc Global Innovation Management programme at University of Strathclyde and Technische Uni. Hamburg 2011-2013. I have also worked in the finance and investment field for early stage businesses over the past 6 years.

From 2009-2011 I was project manager for the Interamerican Development Bank and CREAME incubator, in the foundation of the first angel investor group in Colombia.  This group grew in 2011 to include 35 permanent members and reviewed more than 150 business plans, prepared over 85 startups for funding pitches. I also advised on the structuring of a Co-financing Fund for Angels Investors who have recently invested in three companies: a BPO Contact Center, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Products and a Digital Media Services Company.

In 2008 I was awarded a business fellowship at New Vantage Group, one of the oldest and largest Angel Investor Venture Funds in the USA.

As Administrative and Finance Director at Microempresas de Antioquia, we achieved annual growth rates averaging 30% from 2005 to 2009 enabling us to become a supervised microfinance institution in the emerging and growing micro-banking industry in Colombia. From 2002 to 2005 I worked for Colpisa, a licensed producer of coatings for PPG Pittsburgh Paints in Colombia.
